KNPI and NYC Indonesia Urge US-Venezuela Dialogue and Condemn US Military Strikes

The Chairman of The National Committee of Youth Indonesia (DPP KNPI) and President of NYC Indonesia, Tantan Taufiq Lubis, in his capacity as Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Youth Organization (NAMYO) – Indonesia Chapter, has received and responded to a message from Juan Pablo Tumbajoy, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Youth of Colombia. Tumbajoy reported that “America has launched military aggression against the city of Caracas,” describing the day as tragic for Latin America and the global peace movement.

In his response, Tantan Taufiq Lubis stated that from a political and diplomatic standpoint, these actions constitute a violation of International Humanitarian Law, a breach of the Universal Charter of Human Rights, and an undermining of UN-supported regional peace efforts. He characterized the attack as an attempt by a declining hegemony to maintain influence through force.

DPP KNPI and NYC Indonesia call on international youth organizations worldwide to unite in raising their voices to protect civilians, defend national sovereignty, and uphold peace as an absolute principle. “This is not a message against any nation, but a message for humanity, dignity, and global peace,” Tantan asserted.

He reaffirmed the solidarity of Indonesian youth with the people and youth of Venezuela and expressed support for the Bolivarian government in safeguarding national interests and sovereignty. He urged all parties to pursue dialogue and mediation to resolve conflicts, condemning the US pattern of forcing undemocratic government changes in Latin America—a clear violation of international law, including the principles of national sovereignty and non-intervention.

Tantan emphasized that all forms of aggression and colonization are contrary to humanity and justice, reiterating Indonesia’s constitutional opposition to colonialism and its commitment to contributing to world peace—a principle also embodied in the spirit of the 1955 Bandung Declaration (Dasa Sila Bandung).
